Full body goose decoys
02/24/07 at 12:51am

This stuff is getting out of hand.  Used some of what I learned hunting November 2005 on a morning field goose hunt with a few MWRC  guys.   Layout blinds, field scouting,etc.etc.  My buddy has now gone off the deep end after a couple decent field hunts. He went and put a deposit down on a brand new 12 foot trailer to fill with decoys and haul around chasing these flying cows.  Now we need to start filling this trailer with decoys. Cry  It is like a disease now... Huh

What full body brand of decoy do you goose hunting gurus recommend?........Bigfoot or greenheads or some other brand.....and why? Smiley

My first ever banded goose was from Canada according to the certificate.

Yep, very true, but as you can see from the photo I upgraded in my weapon too.  I went to the SBE II.  And I blame you guys, since your weapons did not jamb  or have any trouble cycling.  I bought it the very next weekend.  So feel free to send any monies $$$ in order to help pay for it, as I blame you guys, for all this extra expense.  I seem to remember someone even laying in the dirt disgusted with me after a miss........... Hollering, "Dennis, you suck!" Angry Angry

I started buying Bigfoots this year because of the durability and don't have to cover bases.  However I have hunted over both and seen many geese shot over both so it's a horse a piece.  I am looking right now at some GHG's with motion bases because BF don't make them so I guess I will be having both.

Green Head Gear FFD Elite Series Decoys, even mix some lessers FFDs in there, you cant go wrong, put them in 6 slot bags. We killed over 450 geese for the fall 2006 hunt, these decoys are absolutely awesome, no shine on sunny days.

I did alot of hunting in the southern part of the state this year, and found out that the scout is the most important part of it all, then the decoys.  I had about 50 shells that came over on the mayflower and some full body decoys, but the decoys that really pull them in is any decoy with a flocked head.  I limited out every time since I bought the decoys with the flocked heads. With the right decoys and the right layout hardly any calling is needed since I need alot of work with that part.

I already mentioned to him that maybe he ought to throw some shovels full of dirt toward it while it is sitting the driveway, to make it look a bit more like a real hunting rig. Grin Grin  As you can see he ignored the advice. Angry  Give it time it will get plenty beat .

I also suggest painting the floor and the inside walls with exterior  grade paint.  It seems to me it would keep the  inside from excessive wear and tear. The wood on the inside is just bare.

What do you think of that idea? Huh

Got all the dogs we need, plus they can smell too!!  So we can use  them for upland hunting when the geese aren't  flying.  Grin Grin Grin  We are going to put some CHUMP CHANGE decals on the trailer, which are being designed as we speak. It is also very possible we will put a couple of MWRC decals on there too.

Does MWRC have any decals? Cheesy
