Sadly......

It looks like my friend and I are going to be losing our hunting blind. (Fort Duck)  It can be seen on my web site.   It was a great blind, dog ports, roof, the whole nine yards.....All good things come to an end...... Sad Sad Luckily I made it to disassemble with only a couple of  screws.  So we can move it..........but we have no land to put it on.

My question is does anyone know how to construct a boat blind?  The blind would be  attached to the bottom of course and just open up to let the boat in.  Anybody know how to make one, or have any plans?  What materials are best?  I have seen camo burlap  used for them, but it looks like sh#t, and doesn't blend in well to the surroundings.  All ideas welcome........thanks.

You can buy duck hunting blinds right off of Cabela's wed site made for the boat! Great for diver hunting.

Why are you losing your blind did they change zoning there?  I know where you are I use to sit straight south of you across the grass on the little group of trees when I lived there.  You know the funny thing I have a pic of my dog out there and in the back round I can see the same house you have in one of your pics on you web page.

Which photo are you talking about? Undecided

The blind is facing south. Straight south of the blind is the wild rice weed bed.  To the east there used to be some apartments along the bank.  To the right(west) is the osprey nest and where snake bridge used to be. Those apartments to the east  have been torn down and the land owner has built his house there.  He also owns the island that the blind is on.  He was originally going to build the house on the island, but the logistic weren't practical I guess.  So the word is we probably won't be able to hunt off the island anymore from a reliable source.  Nothing to do with the zoning......hopefully we will still be able to hunt there.....but when banging starts at daylight and the people in the house are sleeping.....I think there is a good chance things are going to change. Sad

I still have a few ideas in the hat to salvage some duck hunting out there on lake Wausau.......

Well apartments then, now a house on the point.  Two years ago I sat in my boat blind during deer season and shot a limit of Mallards and Geese, while looking to the North and watching them wrap that house in the wind.  I used to not sit far from the osprey nest.
